We at Kiarry Kennels know that choosing a Professional Handler is a choice that should not be made lightly.  You would not choose a school or a day care for your child on a whim and neither should you choose a Professional Handler for your Special canine on a whim.  While winning ribbons and looking pretty in the show ring are important aspects of the dog show world,  the most important actions take place behind the scenes.   You as an owner/breeder need to be well informed on what to look  for in a Handler and what to questions to ask.  The AKC has a great deal of informative information on this subject at their web site, and we feel it is a great place to start in your search for a handler to pilot your special dog to stardom. 

Handling

           We at Kiarry Kennels know that for every dog that needs a handler there are 10-20 want-a-bees waiting for the opportunity to show that dog.  But it takes more than just a “Ring Jockey” to campaign a STAR!  So here are a  few important reasons  to choose Kiarry Kennels.

 

¨ Our Handler:  Lisa Miller is a professional, AKC registered show dog handler with over 35 years experience. Beginning with Great Danes and GSPs in juniors, then moving on to apprenticing and being mentored by some of the top AKC Handlers of her day, has given Lisa the skills necessary to evaluate, train, and campaign your canine STAR! She has successfully, campaigned multiple dogs in many different breeds to #1 status.

 

¨ Kiarry Kennels attends over 150 shows per year.

 

¨ We are committed to helping your Canine Star thrive in the Dog show world.  In order to do this each dog must be healthy, mentally as well as physically.  For this reason we strive to provide a happy and healthy environment for their home away from home.  Our modern kenneling facility, where your dog would be conditioned, groomed, petted, trained and loved,  is set up to accommodate the show dog in training as well as the seasoned STAR!   We offer training, conditioning and grooming of most breeds of dogs. While your dog is with us they will have their own run which is fully covered.  We feed and recommend Eukanuba dog food, however if your dog requires a special diet we will feed them whatever they are accustomed to eating. During their stay your dog is treated with the same "TLC" that you give them at home, without the couch or bed. Several dogs that we are campaigning live with us year round and go home occasionally for a visit.

 

¨ We travel in a totally self-contained, state of the art, climate controlled motor home and box truck that are equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.  We can accommodate most any size dog, from small to tall and everything in between.  Your dog’s comfort and safety is of the utmost importance.   Dogs travel in size appropriate crates and kennels.

 

¨ Our employees are specially trained to care for your Canine STAR at home and on the road.

 

¨ We participate in the AKC apprentice program because we feel that the Handling Stars of tomorrow  need to learn the “RIGHT” way to care for dogs today .
